Damn It's been 17 years
I enjoy watching this video and have placed it in my library so others can enjoy it too. If it bothers you, I'll remove it again.
Best regards, Hemming
I was introduced to this concept by a mentor I recently gained through a leadership development program developed by BTS. I am infatuated with this thought leader's ideology, and can't wait to dive into his books.
even after 17 years things are still the same 🙂
17 years old video and we are in the same boat.
@ 5:43 Obviously he's never taught in a inner city school or taught in public education because most of the kids are horrified at being wrong. Watch how many look horrified if you call on them when you question/check for understanding. They look mortified because they don't want to look stupid in front of their classmates. So they are frightened of being wrong and are scared to answer.
Saçma sapan gülüyorlar ,adamı standupçı yaptılar.
Always refreshing to watch.
Sultanım da Sultanım ❤
Eğitim bizi geleceğe taşıyacak tek araçtır. Eğitim için geleceğin kapısını açan tek anahtar denilebilir.
Well.. 17 years later we have Tik Tok dancing 🤷
Everything has been created through imagination
lots of truth here, wish I had got out of formal education at the age of 16 and learned a trade, or perhaps been given the purpose of mathematics and history at any stage rather than to pass exams.

Watching this in October 2024.
17 years later and this talk rings true more than ever
He told bitter truth of education system
14:59 Oh my god I've returned to this video countless times over the last 15-20 years and it's the first time I've seen this – is that JEFF BEZOS in the audience???
18 years passed still the same!! 🙃
🎯
It's kind of hilarious how so many people missed what Ken Robinson said here:
He is not saying "music might be more important than XYZ for some kids, so let those kids out of maths class". He clearly says "maths is important, so is dance". What he is saying is to stop cutting out the liberal arts out of the curriculums". And the fact that so many mistook this is an indication that again, Ken Robinson IS right… you need Reading and the Language Arts as much as art and dance.
what the 7 keys in this talk
Thank you, I am an art professor and am fighting with thge system to make them see that creativity and expression is the if not most important, but one of the important subjects to be taken seriously to open a child's mind!
Is he Jeff Bezo?? 15:00 ??
This is an eye-opening speech, if only we can understand the future generation are heading towards and how we can be the change makers.
Best Ted talk I’ve ever seen
This is 17 whole years old and we are still in the same place…
Anyone in 2025?
Wow 17 years ago nothing has changed
Man I gat to think about my life😢
Wow! lives in LA don’t like that place 😮
17 YEARS AGO? Can we get someone to put this back into the mainstream media puh-lease? I get changing the entire school system is a large undertaking, but clearly it is overdue….
Thanks❤
17:14 move to think 🤔 how true….
14:58 is that Bezos laughing away?
Effertz Knoll
Very good
I'm with him on everything except medication. I was an undiagnosed ADHD kid and medication would have rescued me from so much torment. It's all well and good to say that the world needs to change, not us, but we actually have to live in the world as it exists until it does.
I know this is sad, but the only reason why I keep coming back to the video is because my dad (he passed away when I was 16) showed me this video when I was having a hard time in school.
It's horrible what he did to his son. So what if it was only a month? He loved her.
Pov: your watching this in 2027
hello everyone. im disha and am currently 18 years old. the thing that led me to this ted talk was that I was feeling left out at college. I wanted to be a more educated person, i wanted to be more intelligent but after watching sir ken. it made me understand that the hierarchical system of education led me here and not myself. this ted talk made me understand alot of new things and more than that to do what I love. it deeply saddens be that it's been 17 years and nothing has changed and it's discouraging to a lot of people. i hope the next generation or the kids these days don't get educated out of their creativity.
Absolutely brilliant 👏
I think that is funny that when this came out, I was in the womb, Now im 17 years old, sitting here watching this for a college class and realizing how true everything he said was. I wish it was more than words though. I wish someone did something to change it
Anybody in 2040😅
A coworker and I were discussing the current state of education. He referred me to this TED Talk, and I am so glad he did. It's amazing to me how the problems from when this was released are still very much relevant today.
