2 Samuel 1 (Part 1) Bible Study (David Hears of Saul's Death) | Pastor Daniel Batarseh

  • This is a beautiful message and even the minute details shared by Pastor Daniel are so on point…which I have seen mostly missing in the ministries and also in ourselves.

Pastor mentioned people leave feeling condemned…I have seen people shamed for their sins being condemned and this may seem fine but there's lack of compassion, lack of the heart to take them out of it and show them there's Jesus waiting to hold on to us.

It's challenging in today's time to address such issues in the church where sometimes non believers come with a little hope and infact even for believers like us we too go astray but knowing that Jesus is there to hold us and that we have committed ourselves to Him, we find out way back but non believers feel pressure and become lost sheep.

  • So true what you said about having more compassion. I want to be more like Jesus… Jesus was the perfect example of never being too busy for others! Even while hanging on the cross, He showed mercy and compassion to the thief hanging next to Him who believed in Jesus and showed humility and repentance. What an awesome God we serve!

  • Great sermon, Jesus said we should love our enemies in Matthew 5:48. David really showed us the Christian life.

  • Another great service. Interesting the Amalekite, what was he doing in those parts if he was not part of the war with the Philistine? There is no way, the Philistine would have left Saul's crown and bracelet. Therefore, (only my view and from listening to the service), the Amalekite found the dead bodies and took Saul's items.

'The arches hit Saul.' 1 Sam 31:3.

Saul had asked his armourbearer to draw the sword on him. However, Saul took a sword and fell upon it. 1 Sam 31:4. Therefore, the Amalekite lied about killing Saul. Also was he not afraid to go into David's camp? The Amalekite must have know, his forefathers history starting from Egypt against the children of Israel?

Sorry to go on, just motivated and enjoying the story unfold. God bless you Pastor Daniel and Maranatha Church family. Sandie.
